Our Projects

Nurturing talent in diverse communities
Attracting diverse audiences to classical music
Kuumba Klub

Kuumba Klub is held regularly during term time for young string players from Grade 1 upwards.

The young musicians are supported by a team of inspiring Music Leaders who challenge and motivate the young musicians by instilling a firm foundation of musicianship, address skill gaps and increase solo, ensemble and orchestral confidence.
Young Music Leaders

The Young Music Leaders programme is a 10 month development course aimed at boosting the personal and musical leadership skills of 10 gifted and talented BAME young musicians aged 14 to17 years old.

This programme also involves up to five mentoring sessions from inspirational artists.
Autumn School & Transition Project

A three day intensive strings workshop for young musicians in years 6 – 9 aimed at addressing technical, social and personal development needs.

The course ends with an inspiring and motivating showcase opportunity for the participating young musicians to share with friends and family.
Christmas and Summer Concerts

Twice a year, our young musicians have an opportunity to showcase their individual achievements and perform with their peers in the Kuumba Orchestra to family and friends. The venues for these performances are usually supported by our partners, which allows the events to take place in prestigious venues.

Private Events

Our young musicians are invited to perform at a range of private events from weddings to corporate functions during the year. Our musicians can perform at your event, whether as a quartet, ensemble or soloist.
